Fales Library and Special Collections

As MIAP students, we have a special appreciation for the Fales Library and Special Collections housed in our own NYU library, which includes the Fales Collection of rare books and manuscripts in English and American literature; the Downtown Collection documenting the arts scene in SoHo and the Lower East Side from the 1960s to the early 1990s; the Fales Food and Cookery Collection; the Riot Grrl Collection; and the general Special Collections of the NYU libraries.  For more information, visit: http://www.nyu.edu/library/bobst/research/fales/

The Fales Library will be sharing with us a ten-minute compilation of “Ten Years of Gay Cable Network Coverage of the Aids Pandemic.”  The powerful footage covers the first decade of the pandemic, including previously-unseen recordings of ACT UP events and protests and man-on-the-street interviews.
